What’s The Advantage Of A Single Handle Lavatory Faucet?

Single Handle Lavatory Faucet

A single handle lavatory faucet is a great way to get a very stylish faucet to fit into a small space.  Sinks are usually designed to hold either triple or single handle faucets, and with the smaller of the two you get a ton more creative designs.  9 times out of 10, a single hole lavatory faucet is going to be a much more creative design than their bigger brethren.

This style of faucet will pack a lot of features into a very small size.  Many of them will have motion sensor on/off switches that allow you to turn the water on without having to touch the faucet at all.  One problem that you will run into with this style of faucet is that you have to choose between having hot or cold water, many of them don’t have the ability to run both.

Faucets with a single handle will be able to handle both hot and cold water.  Both lines will run in from the bottom, and the handle will move left to right to adjust the hot/cold levels.  One problem that you run into with this style of faucet is that the hot water heater will almost always kick on when the faucet goes on.  They have a hard time running only cold water.

If you are looking for something that looks great, but doesn’t take up a lot of space, a single handle lavatory faucet is exactly what you need.  They function perfectly for things like brushing teeth, washing hands, and getting a drink of water, all while looking fantastic on your counter.  Just be sure to get a design that jives with the rest of your bathroom, there are a ton of options out there, and it’s easy to get carried away with something that doesn’t work with the rest of your design!
